Each summer since 1998, St. Paul has taken a mission team to Guatemala to visit our sister church, Redentor del Mundo, in the village of Santiago Zamora.
During our 10-day stay in Guatemala, we lead Vacation Bible School for children at the Lutheran and public schools, spend time with the Basico (middle school) students, and build relationships with the families of Redentor del Mundo. We are always so blessed by the opportunity to learn with the children, play with them, and see God work through them.

Redentor del Mundo is a Lutheran congregation of about 15 families. The church also has a school, with about 80 students in preschool to 5th grades. After finishing their studies, some go on to Redentor's Basico (middle school) program, one of few opportunities for children in this area to continue their education. For many of the students, the school day is the only time they hear about the love of Jesus.
St. Paul's relationship with Redentor del Mundo began many years ago when Redentor was founded. Members of the congregation continue to support the church and school by their prayers and sponsorship of some of the students, as well as through the efforts of the annual mission trip. Sponsorship of the students by St. Paul members and others is organized through Central American Lutheran Mission Society (CALMS), which helps provide school supplies, textbooks, and uniforms.

Lenten meals
