Straight Bible Study with study guide
We are studying the entire Gospel of Luke this year, and different study guides are being prepared each week for usage in personal or small group study. Use these guides in your small group as you dive even deeper into the text that was studied on Sunday morning. All the study guides are downloadable.
Straight Bible Study with discussion questions
Pick a book of the Bible that your group would like to study and use the included discussion questions to get the ball rolling. We can complement this study with a suggested Bible commentary to help leaders in their preparation.

In a time of great challenge, the Heroes of the Faith series (from Concordia Publishing House) highlights men and women in the Bible who overcame extraordinary difficulties. Their stories show that God chooses ordinary people – people just like you – to do His extraordinary work. There are 9 different studies in this series, each with 6 different lessons. Some of these include Quiet Heroes of the Faith (Hannah, Widow of Zarephath, Naaman and the Young Girl, Zacchaeus, Dorcas, and John Mark) and Incredible Heroes of the Faith (Deborah, Job, David, Elijah, Jonah, Esther) . Discussion questions included.
4. Studies on Prayer (Pick One)
Book Study with study guide
Most of us have trouble finding time to pray, but prayer doesn’t happen on the run. Discover in your time of study how to slow down to pray, listen to God, respond to what you hear, practice the presence of God and overcome prayer barriers.

A Lutheran pastor uses the prayers in the Bible to teach about prayer and its place our daily lives. “Prayer does not begin with human effort to pester God until he listens. Prayer begins with God's promise of mercy toward us; Prayer is also not a way to manipulate God into answering all our questions or solving our problems in the ways we want them solved. Prayer is designed to help us transcend our problems and troubles by hearing God Himself through His word and Sacraments.”
Video Study with discussion questions and recommended Scriptures
Nooma videos are short films (10-14 minutes) that give a Christian perspective in a new way. Each NOOMA touches on issues that we care about, that we want to talk about, and it comes in a way that intersects with today’s culture. The speaker is Rob Bell, the founding pastor of Mars Hill Bible Church in Grandville, Michigan. All discussion books are downloadable.
Video/Book Study with discussion questions
Out on the risky waters of life, Jesus invites us to come to him. Applying the Matthew 14 story of Peter’s step of faith to contemporary discipleship, Pastor John Ortberg invites Christians to consider the incredible potential that awaits those who fearlessly trust God.
